Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of the Rephrasely website and browser extension, operated by Sourav Suman, an individual developer based in Bangalore, India (“Rephrasely,” “we,” “us”). Using Rephrasely means you agree to them. If you don’t, don’t use it.

2. What Rephrasely does

Rephrasely is a browser extension that rewrites the text you submit in one click, in a role, tone, and language you choose, using premium third-party language models. It can also translate what you wrote. You’re responsible for what you write and for what you send after a rewrite, in every app you use it in.

3. Accounts

You need a Google account to sign in, on the website or in the extension. Signing in on either one gives you the same account and the same plan on both. Tell us if you think your account has been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

Don’t use Rephrasely to generate content that’s illegal, deceptive, or intended to impersonate someone without their consent. Don’t try to reverse-engineer the extension or abuse the service in a way that degrades it for other users.

5. Plans and billing

The free tier includes 5 rewrites per day, which reset at midnight US Eastern time. There is no time-limited free trial of paid features.

Professional is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly through our payment processor, Dodo Payments, who acts as the merchant of record. It renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next charge; it doesn’t refund the period you’re already in. Lifetime is a single one-time payment for ongoing Professional access.

You can request a full refund by emailing support@rephrasely.app within 5 days of any purchase, no questions asked. After 5 days, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Because Dodo Payments is the merchant of record, their refund terms may also apply.

Plan changes, such as switching between monthly and yearly, take effect from your next billing date unless stated otherwise at checkout. Prices are shown at checkout and may change for future billing periods, with notice.

6. Intellectual property

Rephrasely and its logo belong to Sourav Suman. You keep the rights to the text you write and the rewrites you generate from it.

7. Disclaimer

Rephrasely is provided as is. Rewrites and translations are generated by a language model and can be wrong, miss context, misjudge tone, or mistranslate. Read every rewrite before you send it.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Rephrasely is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Termination

You can stop using Rephrasely and close your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If we terminate your account for a terms violation, you aren’t entitled to a refund.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Bangalore, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

11. Changes

We’ll update the date at the top when these terms change, and email active users about material changes.
